Community information session: Minerals exploration in south central Victoria

taking soil samples during mineral exploration

The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions hosted an online information session on Tuesday 22 September 2020 about minerals exploration for residents in the Gisborne, Macedon, Daylesford and Bacchus Marsh areas.

This session was in response to community interest in minerals exploration licence applications and an expected increase in exploration activity.

Participants learnt about what minerals exploration involves, the licensing process, how locals can have their say on applications, and explorer obligations with regard to engagement with local communities.

Participants were encouraged to submit questions at registration ahead of the session. To adhere to the time schedule, these questions were addressed ahead of any questions posted during the presentation. All questions submitted before and during the live recorded presentation will be posted and answered on this page.

For more information regarding this session, please download the Fact Sheet below or visit our understanding minerals exploration and have your say on new minerals licence applications pages.
