Code of Practice for onshore petroleum wells
The Code of Practice for the construction, operation and decommissioning of petroleum wells in Victoria gives authority holders practical guidance on petroleum well operations. It sets out the standards, rules and requirements they must consider when designing and carrying out this work.
The code helps industry minimise and manage risks at every stage of an onshore petroleum well’s lifecycle.
The code was made in accordance with section 250 of the Petroleum Act 1998 . Read it together with the Act and Petroleum Regulations 2021.
