Fit and proper person policy

Earth Resources Regulation is raising the bar to support good explorers and miners.

The resources industry continues to build prosperity for the state with increasing opportunities for exploration and development in regional areas. It is important that the community have confidence in operators and those entering the industry.

The 'Fit and Proper Person' operational policy outlines the factors that will be considered when assessing a licence applicant's status as a 'fit and proper person' to hold a licence.

The Mineral Resources (Sustainable Development) Act 1990 requires all licence applicants to meet the requirement of being a 'fit and proper person'.

The Fit and Proper Person Policy outlines the factors the Minister or the Minister's delegate will take into account when deciding to grant a licence.
