Geotechnical guideline for the extractives industry

The Geotechnical guideline for terminal and rehabilitated slopes – Extractive Industry Projects provides guidance on the geotechnical information that operators of quarries should include in their work plan. The guideline also provides information on the level of expertise needed to prepare this information for the regulator.

Transitional arrangements:

• Where a site meeting has already been held for the application, then the proponent may continue their application in line with the previous arrangements.
• Where a site meeting has not yet been held for an application, the new guideline applies, and materials prepared should be developed in line with the new requirements.
