Competing licence applications - interim operational policy

This operational policy sets out the factors that will be considered in ranking more than one valid application for an exploration licence in respect of the same land that is received on the same day, under Section 23 of the Mineral Resources (Sustainable Development) Act 1990.

The overall objective of this operational policy is to enable applicants who demonstrate the greatest competency to conduct effective exploration programs to gain exclusive access to the State's mineral resources, which if successful, have the potential to generate investment and job opportunities, particularly in regional areas.
