Working with other regulators

We work with the following government organisations:

MoUs with co-regulators

Resources Victoria has agreements with other regulators to make sure our work is aligned. These agreements set out how we avoid overlap and how we work together when needed.

We have memoranda of understanding (MoUs) or working agreements with:

VicGrid

Responsible for planning the electricity grid to deliver renewable energy across Victoria.

Victorian WorkCover Authority (WorkSafe)

Responsible for enforcing Victoria’s occupational health and safety laws.

Environment Protection Authority (EPA)

Regulates pollution and noise, with independent authority to make decisions under the Environment Protection Act 2017.

Key EPA contacts

Country Fire Authority

The Country Fire Authority is responsible for the prevention and suppression of fire and protection of life and property in regional and rural Victoria. Resources Victoria and the CFA work closely together in both preparedness and response to emergency events. This MOU establishes rights and responsibilities between both parties to carrying out joint training and associated fire prevention activities related to open cut coal mines.
