Langwarrin quarry put on notice

Resources Victoria continues to use a range of compliance tools to ensure potential impacts of quarrying on the environment are minimised and sites can be rehabilitated quickly when production ends.
Following a community complaint in May, Resources Victoria has issued an infringement notice to a quarry operator in Langwarrin for operating outside its approved hours. The quarry operator was fined more than $12,000.
Operating hours are established to minimise impacts on surrounding communities and ensure quarrying is conducted in accordance with Victoria’s strict regulatory requirements.
During a successful compliance program in 2025 Resources Victoria visited almost 900 sites across the state to ensure operators are meeting their site obligations, including their duty to properly manage risk.
Resources Victoria will continue to monitor compliance at quarries.
